T.I. & Scrapp Deleon Come Together to Help Nonviolent Offenders in Georgia

In good Hip Hop news….

Along with the help of a Georgia church, rapper T.I., and VH1’s “Love and Hip Hop” reality star, Scrapp Deleon came together to post bail for 23 nonviolent offenders who would have otherwise spent their Easter holiday in lock up.

Senior church pastor Jamal Bryant says this was a way for the church be more outspoken when it comes to prison reform.

The “Bail Out” program connects each offender to a mentor and if eligible can possibly be given funds for college savings. The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia says the church originally set out to raise $40,000 at the start of Lent, but donations quickly rose to $120,000 in a month!

The program so far is for people who live in DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Rockdale counties.
