And he can only blame himself on this one!!
The L.A. rapper loss his ongoing legal battle with Priscilla Rainey, who sued the rapper for sexual assault a few years back.
The Game’s appeal request for a new trial was denied by The United States Court of Appeals making him still require to pay Rainey $7.1 million in damages. The court made its decision this past Thursday, over four years after the plaintiff filed the civil suit.
The sexual assault allegedly happened back in 2015 when Rainey was a contestant on Game’s reality show She’s Got Game on VH1. Rainey claims she met up with the rapper at a Chicago sports bar for a date, but had no idea it would be off-camera. The lawsuit states the Game, (whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor), came to the restaurant “highly intoxicated on alcohol and drugs, then sexually assaulted the plaintiff on numerous times, forcefully putting his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks.”
Rainey won her lawsuit back in 2016 and was awarded $7.1 million after the Game chose not to appear in court. The simple fact the rapper decided not to go to the initial hearings was the sole reason behind the appeals court’s decision to deny his request. Circuit Judge Diane Sykes also considered all of Game’s online shenanigans and threats against Rainey, who he accused of being bitter of getting eliminated off the show.
Via Circuit Judge Diane Sykes:
“Taylor did not take the litigation seriously. He evaded process, trolled Rainey on social media, dodged a settlement conference, and did not bother to show up at trial. His attorney asked for a continuance, but the judge denied that request, dismissing Taylor’s proffered excuse as an elaborate ruse.”
So in other words The Game brought this 7 milli price tag on himself!!!
What’s your 2 cents?!
