Aaron Hernandez’s fiancee says she has no concrete evidence that the ex-NFL star was gay as the new Netflix docuseries implied but to her it wouldn’t have made a difference if he was.
Shayanna Jenkins via “Good Morning America”:
“I wouldn’t have loved him any differently. I would have understood.”
In the Netflix series, “Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez” it features claims from Aaron’s former high school teammate, Dennis SanSoucie, who alleges the two had a sexual relationship before they went off to college.
And although throughout the interview Jenkins didn’t dispute the allegations, she did express it’s unfair to discuss someone’s sexuality when that person is no longer around to defend themselves.
“Although I had a child with Aaron, I can’t tell you how he was feeling inside.”
“If he did feel that way, or if he felt the urge, I wish that I was told. I wish that he would have told me because I wouldn’t have loved him any differently. I would have understood. It’s not shameful.”
“I think it’s a beautiful thing. I just wish I was able to tell him that.”
As reported Hernandez commited suicide in his prison cell back in 2017, where he was serving the sentence for the 2013 murder of his friend, Odin Lloyd.
When asked if she believes Hernandez was innocent, Jenkins answered:
“Yes. Of course I do.”
