HBO Max Unleashes Russell Simmons Accusers Documentary (VIDEO)

Will you been tuning in?!

The first look at the upcoming On the Record documentary premiering on HBO Max next month features Russell Simmons accusers speaking out about the music mogul. The almost three-minute trailer follows music executive and producer, Drew Dixon, as she battles with her decision to finally come forward with her sexual assault allegations against Simmons.

Dixon was an A&R exec at Def Jam Records, which was co-founded by Simmons and alongside Rick Rubin. The teaser starts at the beginning of Dixon’s 20-something career aspiring to work in music industry. Dixon worked with many hip hop G.O.A.T.S. including the Dr. Dre, Notorious B.I.G.,Tupac Shakur, Method Man, Nas, and Snoop Dogg.

Dixon, however says while working at her dream job her life took a complete 360 in the trailer:

“I didn’t tell that many people about what happened with Russell. He just grabbed me and I am saying ‘no.’ I was reduced to nothing in that moment. Nothing about anything that makes me who I am mattered.”

Since day one Simmons has been denying all misconduct allegations, coming to the aid of Black female sexual assault survivors during the skyrocket #MeToo movement.

On the Record ,Directed by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, premiered this past January at the Sundance Film Festival. It was supposed to premiere on Apple TV+ before Oprah Winfrey backed out of production due to “creative differences”. Thus came Simmons and 50 Cent posting messages on IG on Winfrey’s intent of involvement in the film.

The film also includes stories of Simmons other accusers, Sil Lai Abrams and Sheri Sher.

‘On the Record’ debuts on May 27.
