Just in case you’re reading this 6ix9ine…..
Tekashi 6ix9ine’s rejected money are exactly what another L.A. nonprofit — that also help fight kid hunger needs.
This week 6ix9ine was ready to donate $200k to No Kid Hungry, a non profit that helps feed less fortunate families who can’t afford to feed themselves. But in a major turn of events the charity said thanks but no thanks 6ix9ine’s large donation.
This brings in Keith Johnson, Executive Director of Kooking 4 Kids, who told TMZ if 6ix9ine’s looking to do a some good charity work and help fight hunger, his past shouldn’t make a difference.
As we reported No Kid Hungry issued a statement saying, “As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values.”
However, Keith Johnson told TMZ:
“If there is an individual that wants to help address hunger in Los Angeles, we welcome it. How that person wants to live their life is for them to decide.”
According to Johnson, his nonprofit holds BBQ fundraisers often, and he doesn’t go snooping into the personal lives of people who support the cause. He does add however that every organization can pick and chose from whom it will accept funds from, and donations are the major key for his organization to be able survive, so he’s not picky at all.
Johnson’s K4K travels to 4 different parts of L.A. and serves 1,600-1,800 free meals weekly to children and parents every day and they always end up running out of food.
Even before the pandemic Johnson says the org was stretched thin due to L.A. County having some of the highest child hunger numbers so they can always use more coins.
No word from Tekashi 6ix9ine’s camp yet!
Guess its safe to say one man’s $200k trash is another one’s treasure!
What’s your 2 cents?!
