Everybody knows Meek Mill has had a long history battling with the judicial system. Allegedly this was the fuel that apparently moved him to make sure that fellow hip-hop artist and friend, Juelz Santana got a fair shot at fighting his gun charge.
Allegedly on Sunday that Meek Mill got in touch with Santana’s wife, Kimbella Vanderee, along with a lawyer who assisted them with navigating though the court process. Meek came in with the understanding that agreeing to the wrong plea deal could mess up a person’s future, so he wanted to make sure that Santana wasn’t going to be put in a compromising place.
Now that Santana he is looking to pay his good fortune forward. He spoke with TMZ and says that he plans to follow Meek’s suit by working close with organizations whose mission is to overturn sentences for wrongly convicted prisoners. He’s also pledges to use his platform in the music biz to shop music and movies that were created by inmates.
The Dipset rapper was released from prison last week Wednesday after only serving 19 months out of his 27-month conviction for an airport gun and drug case. and although he is a free man, he is not officially free when it comes to the legal system. Santana has committed to be freed on a supervised release which means that he has to do drug tests every 15 days.
But on the good side, he was able to finish his sentence at home, avoiding going a halfway house, as most facilities are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lucky for Sanata to have a buddy like Mill by his side!
